Hey,
I’m Alex
Alex Walker
Head Coach, CrossFit Kenmore & Kenmore Barbell Club
CrossFit L1 • USAW L1
Alex Walker has been coaching since 2012 and brings over a decade of experience to the floor as the Head Coach of CrossFit Kenmore and Kenmore Barbell Club. With certifications in CrossFit and USA Weightlifting, Alex specializes in Olympic lifting, youth athlete development, and adaptive strength training — most notably working with individuals affected by FSHD muscular dystrophy to slow disease progression and restore functional movement through strength and mobility.
Alex has coached athletes to both Junior Nationals and Youth Championships, including a standout youth lifter who placed 5th in the nation and broke five PNW records after just nine months of training. Whether it’s guiding national-level competitors or helping everyday athletes move pain-free, Alex’s mission is the same: build strong, mobile, and confident humans from the ground up.
He believes proper mechanics are the bedrock of long-term progress, following the Starrett System of movement to unlock the positions people struggle to reach. He thrives on those “lightbulb” moments — when a client finally feels what good movement is supposed to feel like — and shares in that excitement every step of the way.
Alex’s passion for the gym began when he was just 10 years old, training side by side with his dad in their local weight room. Those early memories shaped him, and today the gym remains his sanctuary — his version of a nightclub. His coaching style is equal parts science and hype: rooted in biomechanics but driven by belief. If you're in his class, you're going to hear your name shouted, your wins celebrated, and your goals pushed just a little higher.
In Alex’s words: “I want people to be as delusional as I am — to believe they can do anything they set their minds to, as long as they keep showing up and putting in the work.”
